Virtual Workshops
If you prefer online learning or can’t attend a face-to-face workshop due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are offering virtual alternatives.
Our virtual training covers all streams, including 3-day nationally recognised workshops, specialist 1-day workshops, and DV-aware workshops.
What it’s about
You’ll learn how to recognise the signs of domestic violence, respond appropriately and refer to support services. The session covers the scope, patterns and impacts of violence; what to consider for diverse groups, communication, interventions, safety, referral pathways and more.
Who it's for
The nationally recognised 3-day workshop is open to frontline workers in Australia. This includes people who provide direct service and support to the community (paid or unpaid) in sectors like health, allied health, education, childcare and community.
The specialist 1-day workshop is for frontline workers who have successfully completed a DV-alert eLearning course, 2-day face to face workshop or 3-day virtual workshop.
The DV-aware workshop is open for anyone living in Australia.
How it works
This virtual training is run by our experienced trainers via Zoom, and you will receive Zoom details prior to the workshop.
The nationally recognised workshops are delivered across six sessions over three days. There are three compulsory assessment tasks to complete during the workshop.
The specialist workshops are delivered across four sessions in one day.
National accreditation
You are required to attend all three days and complete the required assessments to be marked competent to receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency CHCDFV001: Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence. Eligibility and fees
DV-alert training is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
The 3-day virtual workshop is free for frontline workers who are eligible. This means you:
Work, volunteer or are on student placement in the health, allied health, education, childcare or community sectors
Have a Unique Student Identifier
Are living in Australia and have Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Permanent Residency or hold a visa with no study limitations*
Are aged 18 or older
To be eligible for the specialist 1-day workshop, you must have received a Statement of Attainment from one of our eLearning courses, 2-day face to face workshops or 3-day virtual workshops.
The DV-aware workshop is free for all adults living in Australia.
