DV-alert Learning Pathways
DV-alert offers three distinct learning pathways for learners to achieve national accreditation. Successful completion of any of the following pathways leads to a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence:
- Assessment Pathway
- eLearning Courses (self-paced online learning)
- 2-Day First Nations Workshop (RA3 - RA5)
This unit of competency is included in many training packages, certificates and diplomas. For more information about qualifications that include this unit of competency, visit training.gov.au.
Assessment Pathway
The Assessment Pathway is designed for frontline workers, paid and volunteer, in health, allied health, education, and community sectors who provide services and support to the community.
Steps to Complete the Assessment Pathway
To qualify for assessment, learners must complete all three key components:

DV-alert 2-Day Foundations or First Nations Foundations Workshop (RA1 – RA2)

DV-alert 1-Day Focused Workshops

DV-alert eLearning Foundations (this can be completed anytime before the assessments)
Once all the above components are successfully completed, learners can enrol in the Assessment session. After satisfactory completion of the assessments, learners will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.

After satisfactory completion of both assessments, a learner will be deemed competent and receive the Statement of Attainment for CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.
eLearning Courses
DV-alert offers two accredited eLearning courses as an alternative to face-to-face workshops:

eLearning Women with Disability
eLearning learners have nine weeks to complete the training course to learn how to Recognise, Respond and Refer, undertake a knowledge assessment and finish with a virtual or online practical skills demonstration . After successful completion, learners will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.
*Important: Learners can only enrol in one eLearning course and cannot enrol in both at the same time.

2-Day First Nations Workshop (RA3-5)
In recognition of the disadvantage rural and remote learners have in terms of accessibility to the internet, resources and on-the-ground support, DV-alert continues to offer the 2-Day First Nations Program as an accredited workshop.
There are three assessments required for the DV-alert First Nations Workshop (RA3 - RA5). Learners demonstrate responding to three different clients in the context of a frontline work situation:

Assessment 2 & 3: Small group activity which are completed with a DV-alert trainer/assessor face-to-face.
Learners who successfully complete the assessment within the 2-day workshop will receive the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.

After satisfactory completion of three assessments, a learner will be deemed competent and receive the Statement of Attainment for CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.
About the Assessments
Assessments are an essential part of your training, helping you apply your learning and receive feedback from your assessor.
Both the Assessment Pathway and eLearning Courses include two assessment components:
- Assessment 1 (via the DV-alert Student Platform)
- Knowledge questions: Multiple-choice, short-answer, matching, and task-based activities.
- Assessment 2 (Virtual Skills Demonstration)
- A virtual skills demonstration in the form of three frontline worker and client conversations, either online or via video submission.
