Release of the First Action Plan (2023-2027) and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan(2023-2025)
DV-alert, funded by the Federal Government Department of Social Services, welcomes the release of two critical Action Plans under The National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032.
The First Action Plan (2023-2027) provides a roadmap for the first 5 year effort towards achieving the vision of the National Plan. It sets out the initial scope of activities, areas for action and responsibility with respect to outcomes, and outlines how we will make the commitments set out in the National Plan a reality. A dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan (2023-2025) will work alongside the First Action Plan. It has been developed in genuine partnership with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Council on family, domestic and sexual violence.
We are deeply encouraged by the Action Plans’ dedicated focus on enhancing the capabilities of those who engage with individuals affected by domestic and family violence, as well as the commitment to combat gender-based violence across all facets of society, government levels, and service contexts, with the inspiring vision of ending violence within a generation.
