What you will learn
This nationally recognised course teaches frontline workers how to recognise the signs of domestic and family violence, respond appropriately and refer to support services. This course covers the scope, patterns and impacts of violence, what to consider for diverse groups, communication skills, referral pathways and more.
By the end of the training, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to:
- Identify and respond to the needs of clients who may be experiencing domestic and family violence
- Respond appropriately with immediate interventions, supporting the needs of clients
- Refer clients to appropriate services and support.
Who should attend?
This workshop is ideal for frontline workers in health, allied health, education, and community services sectors, as well as anyone who works or volunteers in a role where they may come into contact with people experiencing domestic and family violence.

National Recognition
After successfully completing the course (including assessments), you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency CHCDFV001: Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.
